Capitol Steel Corporation seeks Purchasing Engineer that is responsible for acquiring goods and services for the company.  She must compare and evaluate products offered to determine if they align with the needs of the end users.  Furthermore, she coordinates with other members of the organization to ensure that all products and services are provided as agreed. The position’s major responsibilities are:

Responsibilities

  • Prepares materials and equipment purchase lists and specifications based on the requirements of the whole company.
  • Meets and coordinates with the other technical groups in the Company for the determination and finalization of their materials and equipment requirements.
  • Looks for the best possible sources in quality and cost (price), of these materials locally and internationally.
  • Evaluates prices and other terms and conditions of purchase for needed materials and equipments.
  • Communicates with all possible suppliers of materials and equipments through ordinary mail, email, faxes and telephone calls.
  • Prepares all documents and materials needed for the purchase of materials and equipments.
  • Prepares reports of these purchases for Management.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s / College Degree, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial) or equivalent.
  • Preferably – years of experienced specializing in Purchasing / Inventory / Material & Warehouse Management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge in the use of software related to office administration such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint and the Internet.

Capitol Steel Corporation seeks fast-learning, self–motivated and goal-oriented Plant Engineer to take a step forward to join a fast–paced environment to support its expansion and operations. He shall be engaged into the day-to-day operations of the Production that shall require his mental and physical ability to perform and finish assigned tasks according to what is planned. The position’s major responsibilities are:

Responsibilities

  • Will be assigned in plant operations and maintenance management.
  • Assists in the development and updating of the PM Master Plan and the annual PM schedule for production equipment.
  • Update the production equipment inspections checklists based on the PM Master Plan.
  • Will prepare action plan to reduce downtime and improve maintenance procedures.
  • Will assist in production, maintenance of rolling mill equipment, and quality assurance of rebar’s.
  • Will report to Production Manager.
  • Will have hands–on exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics and lubrication technology.
  • Assists in the preparation of short and long term production plans and programs based on equipment and manpower deficiencies based on audit / assessment, studies, inspection, monitoring checklists and CPAR.
  • Assists in the assessment of practices and activities in the production for standardization and in the preparation of proposals, studies or action plan’s for efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s / College Degree, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial) or equivalent.
  • Graduates from MAPUA, UST, UE, FEU or equivalent provincial schools are preferred to apply.
  • With working experience from a manufacturing company such as steel, canning, paper, bottling industry and other heavy industry.
  • Licensed but not required.

Capitol Steel Corporation seeks Warehouse Checkers who will in charge for the loading process of delivery. He shall ensure that all delivery trucks are loaded as per schedule. The position’s major responsibilities are:

Responsibilities

  • Checks and reports the rebar stocks.
  • Oversees the accurate physical loading or rebar’s based on delivery orders.
  • Sees to the orderly stocking and physical arrangement of the rebar’s in the Warehouse.
  • Ensures accurate physical count of rebar’s through physical inventories / counting.
  • Maintains a record of inventory of rebar’s to ensure accurate inventory
  • Reports directly to Warehouse In-Charge.

Qualifications

  • Graduates of B.S. in Business Administration Major in Logistics Management will be an advantage, Bachelor’s / College Degree in Business, Mathematics or its alike.
  • Fresh graduates / entry level applicants are encouraged to apply.

The Plant Manager’s primary responsibilities include leading the operation and maintenance staff, the daily management and coordination of plant operations including production, logistics and maintenance while ensuring compliance with all labour, safety, environmental and corporate policies and regulations.

This is a hands-on position that is responsible for maximizing daily production. This position plays an integral part in plant operations, special projects, and has responsibility developing and maintaining a motivated staff and for developing and achieving budgetary and production targets.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Develop and manage the strategies, plans and budgets as agreed with the Management to achieve the organizational and financial objectives of the company.
  • In order to achieve the overall organizational and financial objectives by assuming responsibility for setting, and controlling budgets, targets and objectives (KPIs), providing regular reports on progress to Management, highlighting variances from these
  • Taken from the business plan and strategy it is essential that all functions within the Company are coordinated and given the necessary direction, control and management and operating to agreed objectives, budgets and targets.
  • To ensure targets and objectives within each area of the business are met it is important to ensure good people management practices in line with the Company’s strategic HR policies
  • Ensure that the key roles are staffed with people who can effectively undertake their roles in the business and that the roles are clearly defined and understood and all personnel are motivated and developed to achieve the business’s objectives. The manager will have responsibility for developing a clear performance objectives for each employee
  • Provide a customer focused approach throughout the Company; building and maintaining the contacts necessary for the future development of the business, proactively promoting the Company
  • Effectively manage labour requirements/manpower planning, production planning, stock management, instrumentation calibration, plant modifications and develop innovative systems and processes utilising all available technology.
  • Lead daily execution of the multi-shift operation by synchronizing the Production team’s operations, and coordinating and collaborating with supporting and supported functional Departments.
  • Lead and supervise by clear communication of expectations, feedback, performance evaluations, training and role modeling. Develop a cross-functional, motivated team delivering stellar results.
  • Work with Supervisors to appropriately staff and schedule employees for current and anticipated workload to ensure production plans and quality expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor cost effectiveness of work orders, material usage, payroll, miscellaneous costs and damage.
  • Measure and educate organization on efficiencies, quality expectations and professionalism to drive improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to execute Process Engineering program.
  • Partner with Maintenance to ensure equipment is operating; reduce down time and machine costs.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates
  • Knowledge of and experience with process improvement
  • Strategic and detail oriented, with orientation for thoughtful action
  • Recent experience of managing a team in a production environment
  • Familiarity with gathering and analyzing production, quality and maintenance data

  • Leadership, a natural ability to lead people and lead by example, the manager will be required to quickly command respect and loyalty even when making difficult decisions
  • Readiness to evaluate alternatives and make decisions even when all information required is not available
  • Understanding of the management principles, including finance, health and safety, quality and HR. Ensure compliance to company policies procedures and standards
  • Critical thinking and Intellectual capabilities to analyse difficult business problems, getting to the route cause of the problems and generating workable solutions in line with objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Degree in Engineering required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization 
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field; manufacturing preferred

Capitol Steel Corporation seeks Maintenance Head that will directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in installation, maintenance and repair of machines, tools and equipment’s and in maintenance of building, grounds and utility system of company premises. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring all mechanical equipment, machineries, and compresses air system are operational and running in good condition
  • Responsible in all welding and grinding activities of parts of fabrication
  • Responsible in the over – all operations and activities of Machine Shop.
  • Responsible in the over – all operations and activities of Motorpool.
  • Ensure that all company vehicles and heavy equipment’s are well maintained and in good running condition
  • Coordinates with the Production Head in performing daily or periodic maintenance of all mechanical equipment and compressed air system.
  • Supervises and assists subordinates during machine and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Supervise and conducts electrical troubleshooting of all electrical installations in the plant.
  • Coordinates with machinists for parts machining and lubrication.
  • Formulate and implement PM Schedule of all machineries.
  • Plan and propose mechanical and electrical innovations to improve plant operations
  • Develop and establish policies and procedures that prescribes general conduct of areas under responsibility
  • Assess practices and activities in the Production for standardization and make proposals, studies or action plans for efficiency and safety improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or its equivalent
  • 3-5 years equivalent experience in maintenance of mechanical equipment’s and compressed air system.
  • Well – oriented in a manufacturing set up.
  • Knowledgeable in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Can communicate with all level in the organization.
