What you’ll do
As a Cost Engineer, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a technical background, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Material Sourcing and Procurement. Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for engineering projects.
- Procurement Strategy Development. Develop strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery timelines, including market research, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Vendor Management. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
- Vendor Evaluation and Performance Management: Monitor supplier performance, promptly address any issues or delays, and evaluate vendors based on criteria such as cost, quality, and reliability.
- Cost Tracking and Documentation. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and vendor performance.
- Continuous Learning and Industry Trends. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
- Process Improvement and Cost Savings. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in procurement operations.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably Electrical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in procurement preferably in a manufacturing or corporate setting.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to establish and maintain vendor relationships.
- Understanding of engineering specifications and technical requirements for materials and equipment.
- Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in procurement.
