What you’ll do
As a procurement engineer, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a technical background, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for engineering projects
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery timelines
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate contracts
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and specifications
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or delays to minimize disruptions
- Evaluate and select vendors based on criteria such as cost, quality, and reliability
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and vendor performance
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in procurement operations
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred Electrical Engineering.
- At least 3 years proven experience in procurement preferably in a manufacturing or corporate setting.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to establish and maintain vendor relationships.
- Understanding of engineering specifications and technical requirements for materials and equipment.
- Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in procurement.
